Motor Vehicle Accident

1500 block South Main, 10:46 hours, a vehicle driven by Katelyn Cochran a 19 year old female from Ottawa ran into the back of a vehicle that was driven by Joseph Forest a 51 year old male from Lincoln, Nebraska.  Cochran was cited for inattentive driving, a passenger was cited for not wearing a seatbelt.

2nd and Cedar, 15:35 hours, a vehicle driven by Deborah Shambaugh a 47 year old female from Ottawa was hit by a vehicle driven by a Joel McAdoo 17 year old male from Ottawa.

Child in Need of Care-Runaway

1100 North Cherry, 16:28 hours, a 38 year old male from Ottawa reported that his 16 year old son runaway from home.  The juvenile was later located.

Took a report of a runaway from a woman whose son ran away from Shawnee Medical Center in JOCO. Miriam PD would not take a report.

Theft

The rp advised that an unknown white male had taken a bottle of ranch dressing. She gave me tag number on a copper colored SUV.  The tag number came back as record not found. Loss was under $3. I was also advised that the camera in the store wouldn’t show the individual.

Assist LEO

White male juvenile 16 Yoa from Ottawa, KS drove his car in the 3400 blk of Eisenhower Terrace. The car got stuck in the mud and water in the road. The vehicle was left there for the night.

Rescue

Deputies along with Lane Fire Dept and LOH fire dept responded to the 800 block of Virginia Road for a water rescue. 27 year old Nancy Couch of Lane, drove into impassible water. Couch was rescued by LOH fire dept and refused any medical treatment.
