Applications are now being accepted for the Ottawa Education Association Scholarship. The scholarship, which is up to $450 per year, is for college seniors or returning students working toward their first teaching certificates. Applicants must be a current resident of Franklin County or an Ottawa High School graduate. Applicants must provide a letter from the school of education at the college or university that verifies the applicant’s acceptance as a full-time student and copy of a current transcript. The deadline for applying is June 1. Mail application requests or completed applications to: Michelle Gray, Scholarship Chairperson; Ottawa Education Association, 409 W. 4th Street, Ottawa, KS 66067. The recipient or recipients of this scholarship will be notified by July 1. The money will be awarded directly to the recipients after Sept. 1 upon proof of full-time enrollment in the college or university named in the application. This scholarship may be awarded more than once to the same person. | |
