4 Braves baseball players named to KCAC teams

The Ottawa University baseball team had four players named to the all-conference teams, led by Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference pitcher of the year Eric Cordell.

Senior Tony Hurla earned second team honors and senior Nate Radtke and junior Mitch Vielhauer were honorable mention selections.

Cordell compiled an 8-5 record, had a 2.33 ERA, four shutouts, 107 strikeouts and for 34 straight innings did not allow an earned run. The 107 strikeouts are a single-season school record.

In KCAC play, Cordell went 6-1 record with a 0.51 ERA, two shutouts, only allowed three earned runs, struck out 60 and held KCAC opponents to a .200 batting average. He was also selected pitcher of the week three straight weeks.

Hurla hit .343 with 17 runs scored, 46 hits, 13 doubles, four triples, two home runs and 28 RBI. Hurla stole eight bases.

Radtke hit .338 with 48 hits, 32 runs scored, 12 doubles, three triples and two home runs. He stole 10 bases.

Vielhauer hit .301 with 40 hits, six doubles, five triples, 27 runs scored and 15 RBI.
