| Special to The Herald In his final weeks at Baker University, Athletic Director Dan Harris will be going out with a bang. Harris was named Under Armour Athletic Director of the Year for the central division of the NAIA. The award spans seven divisions and annually honors 29 athletics directors as regional winners, and one international recipient. Harris will receive his award this weekend in Orlando, Fla. Harris will begin his retirement July 1, 2009. During his 26-year career, Harris has served as director of athletics for the past 15 years. The past five years, every athletics field received a new Daktronics scoreboard, Liston Stadium installed FieldTurf for football and soccer, a new polyurethane track, and a new baseball stadium was constructed along with significant upgrades to the softball complex The fall of 2008 was a banner year as every fall sport qualified for postseason competition. | |
