Everett L. Gragg, age 82, of Ottawa, Kan., passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009, at the Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kan.

He was born March 21, 1927, at Quenemo, Kan., the son of Robert and Edna (Brooks) Gragg. He attended schools at Quenemo and Ottawa, Kan.

Everett worked for Bennett’s Creamery in Ottawa, Kan. In 1950 he began working for Kansas City Power and Light Company in Paola and later in Ottawa, Kan. He was a Lead Construction Operator for nearly 40 years before his retirement in 1989.

He enjoyed fishing and having coffee with his buddies in the morning.

He is survived by four sons, Darrell Gragg, and his wife, Louise, of Ankeny, Iowa, Keith Gragg, of Fredonia, Kan., Dennis Gragg, and his wife, Marilyn, of Ottawa, Kan., and Curtis Gragg, of Ottawa, Kan.; significant other, Sara Gobea, of Ottawa, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Gragg was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers, Lloyd Gragg, Robert Gragg Jr., Clarence Gragg, Raymond Gragg, Everett Gragg, Benny Gragg, J.D. Gragg and Bernard Gragg; three sisters, Florence Bowen, Naomi Fagan and Cecil Cowdin; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory St., Ottawa, Kan. Friends may pay respects after 8 a.m. Monday until the service hour at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.  Private family inurnment will be at a later date at the Quenemo Cemetery, Quenemo, Kan.
