Damage to Property/Vandalism

Took a report of criminal damage to property from a Pomona man. Some one shot five rounds of 9mm rounds into his semi-truck. Estimated damage about $3,800 dollars.

Burglary

Took a report of criminal damage to the concession stand at Williamsburg baseball parks. Some one tried ripping off the panels on the north door of the concession stand. A Williamsburg woman discovered the damage.

Accident Injury

59 YOA Diane Spisak from Wellsville, KS, was driving south bound in the 4300 blk of Vermont Terrace. She lost control of her scooter and went off the road. She was transported by Life Star to KU Med. For further details see report.

Arrest

Arrested Zevero Chavez, 31yo Ottawa, on a Franklin County warrant for failure to appear.  Bond set at $3000.

Arrest

Served a out of state warrant on 31 year old Zevero Chavez.  The warrant was through state of New Mexico for Concealing his Identity and Contributing to a child’s delinquency.  There was no bond for the warrant and New Mexico will come and pick of the subject.

Traffic Stop

Stopped a 2001 Kia Rio with KS-592-BUH for failing to signal while changing lanes.  The driver, Timothy Smith, a 19 year-old Pomona male, was found to be driving on a suspended DL and had a OPD Warrant.  NTA issued.  See report.

400 Block West 18th Terrace, 0812 Hours, a 53-year-old Ottawa Kansas female reported that several paintings were taken from her residence over the past week.

Auto Theft

1300 Block South Olive, 0821 Hours, a 22-year-old Ottawa female reported that her 2002 Chevy Impala had been taken sometime overnight from in front of her residence. Investigation continues.

Criminal Damage to Property

1120 South Ash (Ottawa High School) 14:34 hours, a 36-year-old Ottawa Kansas male reported the spray painting of graffiti on a pump house between the high school and the middle school. The house belongs to the USD 290 School district.

Warrant Arrest / Felony Obstruction

700 Eisenhower, 1921 hrs The suspect Zevero Chavez a 31-year-old Ottawa was arrested for multiple agency warrant and felony obstruction after giving a false name.

900 S. Cedar, 2111 hrs, The victim a 26-year-old Ottawa male reported that an unknown suspect stole his wallet.

1600 S. Main, 0129 hrs, The suspect Richard Krout a 30-year-old Ottawa male was arrested on a City of Ottawa warrant.

305 S. Main, 0255 hrs, The suspect Tim Smith a 19-year-old Ottawa male was arrested on a City of Ottawa warrant.
