| By COURTNEY SERVAES A Wellsville woman remains in the ICU today after an accident involving a mo-ped last night. Diane Spisak, 59, Wellsville, was life-flighted to KU Medical Center just after 5:30 p.m. yesterday after she lost control of her mo-ped scooter on Vermont Terrace, Sgt. Curtis Hall said. Diane’s husband, Drew Spisak, said his wife does not appear to have any brain injuries but has several broken bones in her face. She has been undergoing surgery to repair those bones today and still remains hooked up to a ventilation tube, Spisak said. Diane Spisak was injured after she lost control of her mo-ped while rounding a corner, her husband said. When Drew Spisak reached his wife, she was unconscious and not breathing, he said. He then performed CPR before an emergency crew arrived to life-flight her, Drew Spisak said. Drew Spisak added that he hopes by 5 or 6 p.m. tonight, his wife’s tracheal tube — which helps her breathe — will be removed. They are owners of the Wellsville Veterinary Clinic, 614 Main St. | |
