Former Pomona woman found dead

A woman with ties to Franklin County and a man reported missing last week were found dead this weekend in Kansas City, according to police and media reports.

Kellie Kiefer, 45, Greenwood, Mo., formerly of Pomona, and Christopher Arey, 41, appear to have been killed in a motorcycle wreck, Police Sgt. Jim Fuller said.

He said firefighters found the two Saturday in a thickly wooded area of Swope Park in Kansas City, Mo.

He said it appeared the motorcycle they were on hit several trees and came to rest about 60 feet from where it left the roadway. The bodies were found nearby.

“Right now it just looks like the motorcycle was going too fast for the curve,” Fuller said.

Fuller said the victims’ identities had not been confirmed but that, if they were who police believed, the pair last was seen at a restaurant last week.

Arey and Kiefer went out on Arey’s motorcycle that day but never returned, according to media reports.
