Pomona Chapter No. 305 Order of the Eastern Star celebrated 100 years May 5. About 50 members and guests were in attendance.

Don Blanton, grand organist, and Mike Towner, presiding grand patron of the Grand Chapter of Kansas, represented the grand officers. A letter of congratulations from Karen Adams, worthy grand matron, was read.

Donna Eichenberger gave a short history of the chapter, which had its charter signed May 14, 1908.

Pomona officers introduced their counterparts from other chapters, who attended the chapter’s “Friendship Night.” Each guest was given a small gift of appreciation.

Doris Reed, worthy matron, was given a floral basket, plaque and the welcome mat used at the meeting for her many years of service and support.

After the meeting a decorated cake and punch was served.
