A 23-year-old Ottawa man is expected to recover after being stabbed late Tuesday night at an Ottawa apartment complex.

Local police and paramedics responded at 10:41 p.m. Tuesday to the 1600 block of Osage Drive to a report of a stabbing, a news release from the Ottawa Police Department said.

There, they found 23-year-old David Connelley, Ottawa, who was suffering from a single stab wound to his upper body, Police Chief Dennis Butler said.

Connelley was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury, the release said.

He was in stable condition Wednesday afternoon, a nursing supervisor said.

Following a preliminary investigation, police arrested 18-year-old Bradley Burke, Ottawa, in the 1400 block of Pin Oak Circle.

Burke, who was taken into custody without incident, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery, the release said.

Butler declined to say what type of weapon was used or what precipitated the attack, other than that the two had been involved in a heated discussion.

Detectives from the Ottawa Police Department continue to investigate the incident.
