KU’s Reesing on Camp list LAWRENCE — University of Kansas junior quarterback Todd Reesing is one of 35 players Monday named to the 2008 Walter Camp Player of the Year watch list. The award is the nation’s fourth-oldest individual college football honor. Reesing set 21 school records last year en route to throwing for 3,486 yards and 33 touchdowns in his first year as a starter. He was an All-Big 12 second team selection in 2007 while leading the Jayhawks to a 12-1 record. This preseason, Reesing has already been named to the Maxwell Award and Davey O’Brien Award lists. The Maxwell is given to the nation’s top player, while the O’Brien honor is awarded to the country’s top quarterback. Among his school records are career marks for passing yards per game (230.6), 300-yard passing games (five) and touchdown passes (36). In 2007 he set KU season bests in a number of categories, including completions percentage (61.9 percent), passing yards (3,486), 300-yard passing games (five) and 200-yard passing games (10). His 213 consecutive pass attempts without an interception late last year not only set a Kansas record, but a Big 12 mark as well.
