| By BRIAN WILLIAMS, Herald Staff Writer WELLSVILLE — The bricks in downtown Wellsville will see a little more traffic next Friday. The annual KC Cruzers Car Show will return to Wellsville from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 4 with a new twist this year. The burnout contest has been replaced with a one-way cruise down Main Street “It’s going to be a true cruise,” Jeanine Berrier, organizer and Wellsville Chamber of Commerce member, said. Vehicles will start the cruise at Fourth Street and travel south to Seventh Street where they will turn east to complete the cruise, Berrier said. Last year nearly 300 cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractors registered for the show and about 2,000 people attended, she said. “We were geared up for more than the year before, but we weren’t expecting attendance to double,” Berrier said. With the kickoff for Wellsville High School season-opening football at 7 p.m., Berrier said she thinks even more people will be in town. To help prepare for a larger crowd, food vendors have been increased from three to five. “There’ll be plenty of food to eat,” Berrier said. The Billy Smith Bluegrass Band will play downtown during the show. Trophies will be given to the top three choices of the viewers and one each for Best of Choice in the categories of motorcycles, tractors and cars/trucks. A “50/50” raffle will be conducted during the evening with the winning ticket drawn at the close of the show. The winner will get half of the pot, and the other half will go to the car show fund, Berrier said. Vehicles can register from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the northwest corner of Fifth and Main streets.
