The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Franklin County today. That warning now has expired.

The warning was slated to last until 2:30 p.m. today, but officials at the National Weather Service canceled it early.

Parts of some Ottawa streets — including Poplar, Cedar and 15th and Ninth streets — were flooded and impassable early this afternoon, according to police scanner reports.

Two to 3 inches of rain fell within a short period of time from several rounds of thunderstorms over the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Affected areas included Ottawa, Pomona, Princeton, Wellsville, Williamsburg, Centropolis and I-35 between mile markers 169 and 199.
