| By BRIAN WILLIAMS, Herald Staff Writer Haleystock is back. The musical performances at Edward E. Haley Community Park, Second and Main streets in Ottawa, have returned — with a different look. What was a four-Thursday-evening run of music last fall, will be a one-day “Street Fair on Main Street” from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Katy Boothe, Ottawa Main Street Association Inc. director, said she hoped having it on a Saturday would make it easier for families to attend, since Thursday is a school night. Eight musical performances are slated for 10 sets, including Travis Marvin, Frankie Diamond, The Saylors, Bailey Hartman, The Dickies, Bob Atkins, Rusty Ryerson and Some Phantoms of the Opry. “Ottawa Music donated a stage for us to use, so it’ll be bigger,” Boothe said. Second Street between Main and Hickory streets will be blocked off for the stage. Seating will not be brought in, so spectators should bring lawn chairs, Boothe said. Music won’t be the only attraction. Several traditional carnival games like the bean bag toss and the dart throw will be available in Haley Park for everyone’s enjoyment. Each game will cost a quarter and prizes will be available, she said. “I’m really excited,” Boothe said. “I think it’s something that will be really fun for the whole family.” | |
