ETHELYN A. BENNETT

Ethelyn A. Bennett, age 94, of Lewisville, Texas, died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Select Specialty Hospital in Carrollton, Texas. She was born January 3, 1915, in Bushton, Kan., the daughter of Ethel (Baker) and Albert Appel.

Ethelyn married Willis J. Bennett on Dec. 2, 1945, in Bushton, Kan. Willis passed away on Feb. 26, 1987.

Survivors include her brother, Albert Appel, and wife, Connie, of Ellsworth, Kan.; her sister, Myrtle Teel, of Hutchinson, Kan.; her daughter, Lyn Zeller, and husband, Vincent Zeller, of Flower Mound, Texas; daughter-in-law, Penny Bennett, of Independence, Mo., two grandsons, Jack J. Bennett, and wife, Gloria, of North Hollywood, Calif., and Zachary Zeller and wife, Amy, of Wimberley, Texas; three granddaughters, Jennifer Zeller, of Eagle Butte, S.D., Janna Bennett Antenorcruz and husband, Jay, of Toto, Guam, and Megan Zeller, of Flower Mound, Texas. She also is survived by two great granddaughters, Tatum Zeller, of Wimberley, Texas, and Briella Antenorcruz, of Toto, Guam; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Morris A. Bennett, of Independence, Mo., and two brothers, Elmer Appel, of Bushton, Kan., and Arlos Appel, of Russell, Kan.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ottawa United Methodist Church, the Ethelyn Bennett Music Memorial Fund and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 14, Ottawa, KS 66067.
