Clients of a local community action agency can have a say next week in electing the agency’s board of directors.

East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corp. will have what it calls a low-income election Monday for representation on the board of directors.

ECKAN clients are eligible to vote if they are 18 or older and a low-income resident of Franklin County.

Ballots will be available from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the VFW Post on U.S. 59 in Ottawa and from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Walnut Plaza in Wellsville.

The day also will serve as ECKAN’s day to distribute commodities. For information about commodities, call Kristina Zhilkina, human services coordinator at ECKAN, at (785) 242-7515.
