The Central Heights school board tapped a retired teacher to fill an empty seat on the board.

Kevin Tooley, who retired after about 16 years of teaching at Central Heights, was selected to fill the vacant seat.

The board received four applications and three of those people attended Monday night's meeting. They were interviewed at the meeting before the board made its decision.

The other two applicants were Cindi Dryden, who has children in the district and whose mother was a former board member, and Joel Schauf, who teaches special education outside the district.
