OU football ranked No. 8 The Ottawa University football team moved up to No. 8 this week in the NAIA coaches poll. The Braves (6-0) were idle last week and play 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Saint Mary in Leavenworth.
Foursome takes senior scramble The foursome of John Long, Elton Murrow, Gary Griffin and Tom Jones shot a minus-4 to win Monday’s senior scramble at Hickory Hollow. Closest to the pin winners were Gary Cole (No. 3) and Karon Crosby (No. 7).
OU volleyball loses to Sterling The Ottawa University volleyball team lost to Sterling Tuesday night in three games at Wilson Field House. Ottawa lost 25-18, 25-15, 25-22. Ottawa (11-17, 6-7) plays 7 p.m. Monday at McPherson.
Eagle JV goes undefeated in league WELLSVILLE — The Wellsville High School junior varsity volleyball team finished off an undefeated season in the Pioneer League Tuesday with a sweep of Prairie View. Wellsville won 25-11, 25-18, and 25-12, 25-10. Wellsville went 10-0 in the league and finished 24-8 overall. Jessica Peacock had four aces, 10 assists; Sam Holtwick, four kills; Mariah Allen, eight aces; Tristan Carolan, two kills, 11 digs; Taylor Broers, 10 digs; Krista Hinman, three kills; Caitlin Valadez, two aces, eight digs, and Elizabeth Strawn, six kills, two blocks.
