| By The Herald Staff BURLINGTON — The Central Heights High School football team are district champions, despite falling 15-8 Thursday to Burlington in double overtime in Burlington. The Viking loss, coupled with Jayhawk-Linn’s 12-7 win over Eureka gave the district a three-way tie between Central Heights, Jayhawk-Linn and Eureka. Central Heights had a plus-19 in points to win the district. Jayhawk-Linn finished second by virtue of its win over Burlington. The Vikings (5-4) will play 7 p.m. Tuesday at home against Osage City, which fell 28-7 to Silver Lake. The Vikings were bit hard by turnovers in sloppy conditions. Both possessions in overtime ended by an interception and fumble. Burlington scored its only touchdown in regulation after a Viking fumble with 5:16 left in the fourth quarter. Central Heights got on the board first in the second half as Dalton Schwab scored from the five. The two-point conversion was good to give the Vikings an 8-0 lead. It stayed that way until late in the fourth quarter. Burlington missed a 25-yard field goal with 56 seconds left in regulation. Neither team scored in the first overtime. Burlington scored on in the second on a 2-yard pass and kicked the point. Central Heights fumbled on its second possession of overtime. Burlinton recovered and the game was over. Anderson County 38, Iola 0 IOLA — Anderson County earned a playoff berth with its win over Iola in Iola. The Bulldogs (7-2) finished second in its district behind Chanute. Anderson County plays 7 p.m. Tuesday at Louisburg, which topped Paola, 14-0, to win its district.
