| By JODIE GARCIA, Herald Staff Writer What’s the status on cable service in Ottawa? Those who want to know can attend Wednesday’s city commission meeting, when a representative from Allegiance Communications will report on service in Ottawa. Sean Hendrix, vice president of operations and regional manager, is scheduled to present a status report at 7 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 101 S. Hickory St. Ottawans are invited to attend and ask questions or voice concerns at that time, Mayor Gene Ramsey said. The report follows results from a customer survey conducted conducted March 26 through May 15. The survey questioned residents about their thoughts on cable service, reliability, price and other issues. The company scored the poorest on questions about customer service and responsiveness to technical issues. A comments portion of the survey showed that many customers think Allegiance is too expensive, has poor reception and does not offer enough package options. However, some customers commented that some aspects of the company have improved over the past several months. “We’re just asking them to give the community good service,” Ramsey said. Allegiance and the city have a 10-year contract until 2012. Ottawa is one of Allegiance’s largest customers, Ramsey said. | |
