| By LEONARD CHEASBRO, New Life in Christ Church Joshua 24:15 We are a people of choice. We choose and make decisions every day. We choose to go to work if we have got a job, or we may choose to go shopping. We make a lot of choices in our life. But there is but one choice we make that determines where we are going in this life and the next life, and when it comes to eternal life, we better make the right choices. Deut 6:5 If we love the things of this world, the love of God is not in us. And the thing besides God is a little god and not the living god. It is an idol. The Lord God has to be first in our life, and everything else will take its proper place. I Col. 3:23 Like no servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other or else will hold to the one and despise the other, ye cannot serve both God and man. So that tells me I cannot serve the things of the world and serve God too. We have to make a choice — an eternal choice. I John 2:15-17 The Bible makes it clear whom we are to serve. There is a great reward in serving God. As a sinner we can come to him and confess our sins and he will forgive us of our sins. We have a need we can take to him. He is a very good listener and he will meet that. He hears our every prayer. We can talk to the Lord any time day or night and he is there for us. He loved us so much he gave his only son for us. So we could have forgiveness for our sins so we can receive healing in our body. God is love. So, let me ask you a question. Who are you serving? God or man? If you say that you are not sure, I invite you to confess yours sins and ask Jesus into your heart. That will the best choice you will ever make. If you have asked the Lord to be your savior, you are a new person. What a better time than now at Christmas time. You will always remember when you got saved. God richly bless you! | |
