Citizen Scholar: CODY CAMPFIELD, West Franklin High School

People have a say in what happens in their communities, Cody Campfield said. Active citizenship allows people to fill vital roles in their communities.

Campfield helped his community during a clean-up day when he helped elderly people with such tasks as raking the yard or picking up trash.

Campfield attends Ottawa Bible Church.

At school, he was active in National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, FCCLA, KAY Club, football, basketball and golf.

He has worked for Buzzard’s Pizza in Pomona, for his father’s construction company and at Olsen Farms. He will work as an intern for the Kansas Secretary of State’s office in Topeka this summer.

Campfield plans to attend Kansas State University, majoring in political science.

He is the son of Charles and Jennifer Campfield.
