JOE ALLAN OSHEL

Joe Allan Oshel, 78, Edgerton, died at his home Monday, Nov. 2, 2009.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner.  

He was born March 7, 1931, in De Soto to Lester Clarence and Vernice Aletha Hall Oshel.

He graduated from Edgerton High School.  

He married Mary Magdalene Huff in Canton, Ohio.  She preceded him in death.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He worked at Central Fiber, Wellsville.

He also was preceded in death by siblings Lester Edward Oshel and Delores McDaniel.

Survivors include daughter, Anna Oshel, Edgerton; sons, Virgil Oshel, Ottawa, George Oshel, Paola, and Kenneth Oshel, Edgerton; brothers, Boyd Oshel, Mound City; Bob Oshel, Princeton and Keith Oshel, Alabama; sisters, Laura Lee Frye, Edgerton, Lois Wynes, Osceola, Mo., and Sharon Jacoby, Ottawa; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery.  

The family will meet with friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
